Charles River Watershed Association's 3rd Champions of the Charles Gala is October 4th

Charles River Watershed Association will host its 3rd Champions of the Charles Gala, a benefit to preserve and protect the Charles River and its watershed, on Friday, October 4th at 6 pm in the Harry Parker Boathouse at Community Rowing Inc. in Brighton.

At the event, CRWA will present its 3rd Champions of the Charles Award, which recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to protect the Charles River. This year, CRWA is honored to announce Susan Tierney of Analysis Group as its 2013 Champions of the Charles Award recipient in recognition of her outstanding work in energy and the environment.

Prior to joining Analysis Group as Managing Partner, Dr. Tierney served as Assistant Secretary for Policy at the U.S. Department of Energy, Massachusetts Secretary of Environmental Affairs, Chair of the Board of the Massachusetts Water Resources Agency, and Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities. CRWA will present the award to Dr. Tierney in recognition of her work to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and water demand, as well as her efforts to promote greater sustainability.

Tickets to the Champions of the Charles are $250.00 each or $225.00 for CRWA members. Each ticket includes cocktails, appetizers, a plated dinner, and dessert. Additionally, the event will feature live jazz and craftsman auction items. Event proceeds will benefit the Charles River Watershed Association and their work to protect the Charles River.

Space at the 3rd Champions of the Charles Gala is limited. Please RSVP by Friday, September 27th, at www.charlesriver.org/champions.html or contact Alexandra Ash at aash@crwa.org
