Francesca Bosio, Tema Siegel and Yarden Yacoby of Newton in PIPPIN July 18 - 21

The winner of four 2013 Tony® Awards, including Best Revival of a Musical, PIPPIN is truly magical and extraordinary!  Boston Children’s Theatre (BCT) is proud to present this thrilling musical to showcase the talents of 13-year old Francesa Bosio, 14-year old Tema Siegel and 13-year old Yarden Yacoby of Newton.  PIPPIN will be performed July 19, 20, and 21 at The Governor’s Academy in Byfield, MA.

 Francesca Bosio has been cast in the role of ‘Player’ in the ensemble.  She has also been seen in The Little Princess at the Marymount School in Rome, Italy and in High School Musical in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands.  Francesca is a student at Oak Hill Middle School and is a member of PALS Children’s Chorus in Brookline.

 Tema Siegel is playing the lead role of ‘Leading Player’ in PIPPIN.  Previously with BCT she has appeared in Footloose, Legally Blonde as ‘Paulette,’ and in The Velveteen Rabbit.  With Newton Youth Players, she has been seen in Peter Pan, Annie as ‘Annie,’ My Fair Lady and Guys and Dolls.  At Oak Hill Middle School, she has appeared in Anything Goes, Guys and Dolls, and Bye Bye Birdie as ‘Rosie.’

 Yarden Yacoby will also be playing the role of ‘Player’ in the ensemble of PIPPIN.  Her credits include Tom Sawyer, HONK, Fiddler on the Roof, Little Shop of Horrors, Monopoly, Buzz On, and The Wizard of Oz.  Yarden attends Oak Hill Middle School.

 With a score by Stephen Schwartz, composer of Godspell and Wicked, and book by Roger O. Hirson, PIPPIN follows a young man on his journey to find meaning in his life. Will he choose a happy, simple existence or risk everything for a moment of glory?  Featuring such songs as “Corner of the Sky,” “Magic to Do,” “Glory,” and “Morning Glow,” PIPPIN is directed by Lisa Yuen, director of BCT’s 2012 Studio 3 production of Legally Blonde, with choreography by Blair Beasley and Brianna Fallon, and music direction by Jaime Castellanos.

 PIPPIN will be performed with 2 casts totaling 58 students between the ages of 9 and 14 at The Governor’s Academy, 1 Elm Street, Byfield, MA.  Francesca, Tema and Yarden will be performing Thursday, July 18 at 7:30 pm; Saturday, July 20 at 7:30 pm and Sunday, July 21 at 2:00 pm.
