LOCAL PLAYERS WIN BRIDGE TOURNAMENT

    Rosemary Thomsen, Stewart Rubenstein, Adam Grossack and Sheila Gabay of Newton recently finished first at a Eastern Mass. Bridge Association (EMBA) Sectional tournament. Rosemary won the 49er Pairs, and the other Swiss Teams at the Holiday Sectional held in Watertown.
    EMBA’s next tournament is Feb. 21-23 at the Armenian Cultural Center, 47 Nichols Ave., Watertown.  Players will compete at all levels.  
    The tournament begins 7:30 Friday.  Other sessions are Saturday at 10: and 3:00, and Sunday at 10:30.   There is a special novice game Saturday at 10:.
    Games last about 3 1/2 hours, and players may compete in one or more events for trophies and other prizes. The tournament features free refreshments.  There is a pairing desk for those who need partners. The cost is $10 per session.  For more information go to www.acblemba.org.
