Newton Resident Shows Commitment to Ending Hunger in Massachusetts

Karen Allschwang Shares Her Most Memorable Experience at The Walk for Hunger Awards Ceremony

(Boston, MA – July 9, 2013)  Karen Allschwang of Newton was interviewed by 7NEWS anchor Kayna Whitworth at Project Bread’s Walk Celebration and Awards Ceremony as friend Mille Dewire, from Dedham, listens. Ms. Allschwang has made an extraordinary contribution to Project Bread’s Walk: She is both a Heart & Sole Walker and, recently, a campaign associate, who helped organize this year’s Walk.  In sharing her experience, she said that she had been walking for nearly 30 years and affirmed that “it is such a meaningful cause to become involved with.” As one of Project Bread’s most dedicated Walkers, Karen is also a member of the Walk Steering Committee and raised $1,000, making her also a member of Project Bread’s Leadership Circle. The ceremony was held at the Museum of Science and recognized the success of the 45th annual Walk for Hunger, which raised nearly $3.2 million to help fight hunger in Massachusetts.
