5 Things: Book Club, Petting Zoo, Gluten-Free Pizza

A few things you need to know for Friday, July 26, 2013, in Newton.

1. Are you reading "Outcasts United" this summer? The Auburndale Community Library is holding a book club on the book that will meet on July 31. All ages are welcome. This choice was prompted after Newton North High School selected the book for summer reading for all students, faculty and staff. The community can participate through the ACL.

2. Calling all gluten-free folks. Comella's announced on its Facebook page that the Chestnut Hill location now offers gluten-free pizza. Just thought you should know.

3. There's a petting zoo and open house at the JCC Early Learning Center located at Leventhal-Sidman JCC (333 Nahanton Street Friday at 10 a.m. Registration is required and can be done via email (newton-jcc@jccgb.org) or
phone (617-558-6420).

4. ICYMI. The Golden Living Center in West Newton held senior prom Thursday, complete with decorations, live music, dancing and the crowning of a king and queen.

5. Before you pour your typical morning cup of coffee on Friday, July 26, consider this: It's National Coffee Milkshake Day. Now, we don't normally advocate for ice cream for breakfast, but it's coffee ... and it's Friday ... and it's a holiday. Need a recipe? Eatocracy can help with that.
