5 Things You Need to Know: July 12

Animal sleepover, off-leash discussion, farmers' market and more.

1. There's a Stuffed Animal Sleepover Friday night at the Newton Free Library. Children can drop off their stuffed animals Friday by 6 p.m. and return on Saturday at 10 a.m. to pick up your stuffed animal, enjoy breakfast and watch a slideshow of how your stuffed animals enjoyed their night at the library.

2. The Off-Leash Area Working Group will meet Friday at 9:30 a.m. at Newton City Hall. The agenda includes a discussion of Thompsonville Playground, which is a possible location for a new off-leash 

3. The Summer Farmers' Market is underway in Newton. There are two markets each week, one of which is on Friday at the American Legion Post 440 (295 California St.) from noon to 5 p.m. 

4. The Newton Royals will take on the Beverly Indians at Brandeis University at 8 p.m. tonight. 

5. It's a Free Fun Friday at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum just over the border in Brookline. The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston is also part of this week's Free Fun Fridays. Check out the full list of museums and dates.
