5 Things You Need to Know: July 8

1. Monday Meetings. The Finance Committee and the Board of Alderman will gather tonight. Check out the City calendar for details and agendas.

2. The Commission on Disability is also scheduled to meet. It's meeting is set for 6 p.m. in room 209 at city hall.

3. Representatives from Land's Sake Farm in Weston will be at the Newton Free Library today to present an interactive program on native plants for children ages 6 to 8. Free tickets can be picked up at the Children's Desk 30 minutes before the 3:30 p.m program.

4. Bike Newton's Monday evening ride will take an 8.1 mile trek along the Chestnut Hill Reservoir. Meet at the Newton Free Library at 5:45 p.m. for the ride to begin at 6. Here's a map of the anticipated route.
