Annual Tree Lighting Events Sunday in Nonantum, Waban

Newton will start to show its holiday spirit this weekend with annual tree lighting events in Nonantum and Waban.

The village of Waban will kick off the festivities on Sunday, Dec. 2 at 5 p.m. in Waban Square (near the intersection of Beacon Street and Woodward Street).

The Waban holiday event will include the annual tree lighting as well as a community sing-a-long

Also on Sunday evening, the Nonantum Children’s Christmas Party Association will present the annual tree lighting at Coletti-Magni Park on Watertown Street in Nonantum

Nonantum's tree lighting event begins at 6:30 p.m. and will include an appearance from Santa Claus himself. Plus, kids are welcome to bring their letters for Santa to drop inside Santa's mailbox (all letters must have a return address).

Both the Waban and Nonantum events are free and open to the public. 

City Hall tree lighting
