Finding Tessa Lehane: Possible Sighting Near Crystal Lake in Newton

Tessa is a 4-year-old tri-color beagle who has been missing since Christmas Eve.

The lost beagle belonging to author Dennis Lehane may have been spotted recently near Crystal Lake in Newton, according to a post on the Finding Tessa Facebook Page

The post says the dog was spotted on Friday, Jan. 18 around 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of Lake Avenue and Rogers Street. 

Tessa, a 4-year-old tri-color beagle, went missing from Lehane's Brookline home on Christmas Eve. Since then, there have been possible Tessa sightings on Grennough Boulevard in Watertown, the Boston College campus off Lake Street in Brighton, Murdock Street in Brighton, and Tappan Street in Brookline.

Tessa is a rescue dog and requires medication, according to her "lost dog" flyers. She is mostly brown and tan and is microchipped. 

According to the Finding Tessa Facebook Page, the dog was wearing a collar when she jumped over a fence and escaped.

Lehane, the award-winning author of Gone Baby Gone and Mystic River, has issued an original reward; he’ll name a character in his next book after the person who finds the dog.

The Lehane family has stressed that they will not ask any questions or press charges against anyone who may have Tessa.
