Heat Will Delay Framingham/Worcester Line Tuesday

Fifteen to 30-minute delays are anticipated.

The Massachusetts Bay Commuter Rail Company (MBCR) is alerting commuters to expect delays on the Framingham/Worcester commuter rail line Tuesday.

As a safety precaution, all trains on the line will be under a track speed restriction brought on by the heat, creating 15-30 minute delays for commuters Tuesday afternoon.

According to a press release, the heat restriction will be in place from 1 p.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday. And, while the release doesn't note this, the temperatures aren't expected to abate over the next couple of days so be prepared for additional delays in the days ahead.

In Newton, the Framingham/Worcester commuter rail line stops at stations in Newtonville, West Newton and Auburndale.
