John J. Lennon, 88, WWII Vet and Newton Native

Lennon worked at Raytheon in Waltham after returning home from the war.

John J. Lennon, 88, a Newton native and Waltham resident, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at Winchester Hospital, according to the Boston Herald.

Lennon, after returning from World War II, worked at the Raytheon company in Waltham. He is survived by Karen Pontonio of Waltham and Woburn resident Marianne Milner, David Lennon of Waltham and Michael Lennon, a Florida resident. His two sister, Rita Lloyd and Phyllis Lennon of Woburn also survive him. 

A funeral mass is scheduled for 9 a.m. at the Sacred Hearth Church in Waltham on Tuesday, Oct. 23. He will be buried at Mt. Feake Cemetery in Waltham.
