Annual New Year's Open House, Celebration Coming to Newton City Hall

The event will include dancing, singing and a puppet show.

Newton community members are welcome to join friends, neighbors and Mayor Setti Warren at the city's annual New Year's celebration on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012.

The event will take place at City Hall and includes performances by the Joanne Langione Dance Studio (held in the War Memorial Auditorium), music from the Newton Family Singers (Aldermanic Chamber), puppets and music with Diana Kane (room 209) and Big Joe the Storyteller (cafeteria).

The New Year's celebration will run from 1:30 p.m - 3:30 p.m.

Although admission is free to the event, families should try to bring a non-perishable food item for the Newton food pantries or children's boots, jackets, gloves and books for Cradles to Crayons. There will also be a collection set up for personal care items (sunscreen, Chapstick etc.) for the troops.
