New Website Celebrates Uniqueness of Newton's 13 Villages

The City of Newton's website now has a section for each village.

Mayor Setti Warren unveiled the new Village Views website which will allow city residents to see what’s going on in their village and get in touch with city officials.

The feature (http://www.newtonma.gov/residents/villages/default.asp) is part of the Newton City Website, and Warren introduced it at an event at Esposito’s Karate Fitness Center in Nonantum.

Residents can find out what restaurants are in their village, construction projects, the nearest MBTA stop and which ward and precinct they live in, according to Joe Mulvey, Newton’s Chief Information Officer. More businesses will be added soon.

“We started talking about it 2-3 months ago, and the mayor had a good vision, so it was pretty easy to put together,” Mulvey said.

If residents don’t know what village they live in they can put in their address and it will tell them.
