Newton Celebrates 46th Annual MLK Jr. Community Celebration

The city will come together for the 46th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Newton Community Celebration on Monday, Jan. 20 at 9:30 a.m.

The event will be at the Second Church in Newton - United Church of Christ, 60 Highland St. in West Newton.

Welcoming Remarks will be provided by Rev. Richard Malmberg, Second Church, and Mayor Setti Warren

Students Representing F.A. Day Middle School, Bigelow Middle School and Newton North High School will share their reflections on Dr. King. Rev. Howard Haywood will also speak.

Musical selections will be provided by: Kol Kapella from Temple Emanuel. All City Treble Singers (Newton Schools), All City Troubadours (Newton Schools) and Myrtle Baptist Church's The Love Tones.

The celebration is presented by the City of Newton, Newton Foundation for Racial, Ethnic, & Religious Harmony, Newton Interfaith Clergy Association, The Newton School Department, and Newton Human Rights  Commission.
