Newton Fireworks Display July 4

Newton will celebrate the Fourth of July with several events around the city.

Newton's annual fireworks show will be held Fri., July 4.

The festivities will kick off with a "Kids Morning" at Newton Centre Playground from 10 a.m. until noon. Children aged 3 to 12 are invited to to enjoy activities including a parade for pets and teddy bears, a decorated doll carriage promenade, foot races and more. Free ice cream will be provided by Cabot’s Ice Cream.

From 1 to 9 p.m. at Albermarle Field, there will be an open-air market and amusement rides. The market will have handmade and international crafts and food vendors. There will also be children’s activities such as face painting, airbrush tattoos, and life-sized bubbles. Live entertainment in the gazebo will feature The Jesse Liam Band from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and Ballroom in Boston from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. The Bo & Bill Winiker Band will perform at 6 p.m.

The fireworks show is at 9 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs.

All of the events are free. Newton Community Pride, the group that organizes the event each year, will be asking for donations, which can also be made here.
