Newton Foundation Rescues Boston's First Night Festivities
The Highland Street Foundation stepped in to organize the event.
Fans of Boston's First Night rejoice - the celebration will go on thanks to the help of a Newton-based foundation.
The Highland Street Foundation stepped in to become the lead sponsor for the 2014 edition of First Night after the organizing body for the event folded in June, according to a report in the Boston Globe.
Foundation Executive Director Blake Jordan said Highland Street will donate $100,000 to the event, according to the report.
