See How to Get Rid of Your Expired Prescription Medications

Drop off your unwanted medications this weekend.

Have old medicine sitting around your home, will this weekend you will have the chance to get rid of it in a safe manner.

Twice a year, the Newton Police Department collaborates with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) to collect unused and expired medication.

On Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. you can drop off your unwanted medication behind the Newton Police Department, 1321 Washington St. in West Newton.

The Newton Police announce:

  • This can be done anonymously and includes all prescription and over the counter solid dosage medications, i.e., tablets and capsules.
  • PLEASE DO NOT BRING IN intravenous solutions, Injectable Drugs or Needles, Illegal Drugs, such as Marijuana or Methamphetamines and Weapons. 
  • Please note that this is for household disposal only-No businesses are allowed!
