Trained leaders will lead each group, and a “sweeper” will bring up the rear to make sure no rider is left behind, according to the announcement on the Bike Newton website.

“We welcome you even if riding this far will be a challenge,” the announcement reads.

The group will stop briefly in each village, where you can meet village greeters – aldermen, local residents, members of the Newton bike community and local businesspeople. Also, collect buttons at each village.

Riders must wear a helmet, have a bike in good working order, be ready to ride 20 miles in on roads in traffic and those under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
