$500 Million Powerball Jackpot: Where to Play in Newton

For the last two months, no one has been lucky enough to win the Powerball lottery. Wednesday's estimated jackpot is now $500 million and likely to go even higher as a buying frenzy has begun.

At $500 million, it would be the largest jackpot in Powerball history.

Powerball is pulled Wednesdays and Fridays. The Powerball lottery is played in 42 states, including Massachusetts and all six New England states.

According to Powerball, the odds of winning the jackpot is 1 in 175 million. The odds of getting all 5 numbers and not the Powerball, earning $1 million, is 1 in 5 million.

Still looking to buy a ticket? There are plenty of lottery locations in Newton, including Silver Lake Package Store, Piccadilly Market (Newton Centre), Oakley Spa (Newtonville), Highland Wine & Spirits, Corner Mini Mart, Upper Falls Variety, Keyes Pharmacy (Auburndale) and Star Market.
