Boston Beer Maven to be Toast of Newton Business Breakfast

The Newton-Needham Chamber will welcome one of the area's top brewers.

Beer for breakfast, well not quite, but Jim Koch, the founder of Samuel Adams Brewery, will deliver the keynote address at the Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Achievement Breakfast.

The event will be held on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 7:30 a.m. at the Needham Sheraton Hotel.

Koch whipped up first batch of Sam Adams beers at his Newton home, and introduced Samuel Adams Boston Lager in 1985. He is now a driving force in the American Craft Beer Revolution and Sam Adams is now sold in 50 states and 30 countries.

“Jim Koch’s isn’t only a world-class brewer. He embodies the spirit of entrepreneurship and creativity. And he’s one of Newton’ own,” said Greg Reibman, the chamber’s president. “I can’t think of any one better to celebrate and honor the best of Newton and Needham at this year’s breakfast.”

The breakfast will also honor local businesses and individuals for their contributions to the economic and cultural vitality of Newton and Needham.
