Developers Want to Create a Kendall Square on the Newton-Needham Line

New developments along Needham Street seek to create a place for people to work and live.

New developments along the Newton-Needham line could transform the business parks into a place where people want to both live and work.

The new developments, including Trip Advisor's new headquarters, are part of what is being called the “N2 Innovation Corridor,” a high-tech hub similar to Kendall Square in Cambridge, according to a story in the Boston Globe.

Before the area can be the next Kendall Square, the N2 Corridor needs three things: infrastructure, transportation, and something a bit more elusive — that “coolness” —  Greg Reibman, president of the Newton-Needham Chamber of Commerce, told the Globe.

The project includes areas near Needham Street in Newton and Highland Street in Needham.
