Get a Taste of Northern Italy in Newton's Newest Restaurant

BRIO Tuscan Grille opened in Chestnut Hill Square.

Dining at BRIO Tuscan Grille is like having a casual meal in a Tuscan villa.

The restaurant with a focus on northern Italian cuisine opened this week in Chestnut Hill Square, at 200 Boylston St. in Chestnut Hill. The Newton location is the first in Massachusetts for the chain.

“We are excited to bring the first BRIO to the Boston area, we have enjoyed great success in other major cities and we’re eager to bring our polished-casual restaurant to such a great community,” said Brian O’Malley, Chief Operating Officer, BRAVO | BRIO Restaurant Group, Inc. “We’re confident that BRIO will be an excellent restaurant choice for those visiting Chestnut Hill Square, local residents and area businesses.”

While it will have some of the same dishes as other BRIO locations, the Chestnut Hill restaurant will take advantage of the foods available in New England. Most of the food used in the dishes - 80 percent - will be made in house.

Brio has a wood stove grill for pizzas and other wood-fired entrees. Some of the menu items at BRIO at Chestnut Hill Square include bruschetta
quattro, bistecca insalata, lobster bisque, roasted lamb chops, Tuscan-grilled pork chops, chicken limone, gorgonzola-crusted filet, lasagna colognese al forno, and grilled salmon salad.

Additional offerings will be available at the Bellini Brunch, on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m.–3p.m.

BRIO offers indoor seating for 235, a 40 seat private dining experience and dining for 40 on its outdoor terrace, as well as a full-service bar that seats 60.
