Is Christina's in Newton Highlands Closing? Not So Fast!

While it may seem that Christina's location is for sale, owner Christina Patsios provides some clarification

As locals know, the Newton restaurant scene is constantly changing as eateries come and go.

Over the last couple days, local residents have sent Tweets and emails to Newton Patch asking about one local spot -- in Newton Highlands -- and whether it may be closing its doors.

But owner clarifies that this may not, in fact, be the case.

While there currently exists a listing on real estate site Zillow that would indicate the location is for sale, Patsios states that she is not yet certain she will be selling her restaurant. She plans to have the listing removed while she makes a more solid decision.

Personal reasons have forced Patsios to reconsider her current situation, but her passion for her restaurant, her customers and her cooking is no less intense than it was when she opened the doors to Christina’s late July 2011.

“I have to think about my family,” Patsios tells Newton Patch. “But I have put my heart and soul into [Christina’s], and this is not what I wanted to do.”

Regardless of whether or not Patsios needs to sell her space, she wants her customers, new and old, to know that Christina’s will not be closing any time in the near future.

Christina’s recently started serving breakfast and Patsios has again tweaked the menu to better reflect an emphasis on Greek cuisine. She is also making her own desserts now (as opposed to purchasing them from other vendors) and continues to be enthusiastic about tailoring every dish to the desires of her customers.
