Luxury 'Pooch Hotel' to Open in Newton This Month

Located in Newtonville, this is the sixth Pooch Hotel location.

After a long, hard day, sometimes all you need is a facial, pedicure and a little bit of play time. 

A new business opening in Newton can offer all that -- for your dog. 

Pooch Hotel in Newtonville is planning to open its doors on Oct. 20, 2012, according to a press release issued by the company last month.

The luxury pet daycare, spa and boarding facility boasts 11,600 square feet of "best-in-class" amenities including 24-hour drop-off and pick-up for clients, custom-made hotel suites with glass doors and a dog spa that features aromatherapy bathing and massage, "pawdicures", facials and tooth brushing.

The hotel also offers fitness and nutrition management, the press release said, as well as 10,000 square feet of play area.

And, if you miss the pup while you're away, webcams are also available to check in and see how the pooch is doing throughout his/her day.

The Newtonville Pooch Hotel, which is located at 258 Newtonville Ave., is the sixth location for the Petco-owned company and the first in Massachusetts, according to its website. The first Pooch Hotel opened in Chicago in 2004 and since then, others have set up in California and Texas.
