Newton Eatery Now Serving Up Lunch

Chef Paul Turano recenly opened an American Bistro style restaurant, Cook, in Newtonville, and on Monday, Dec. 2 the restaurant will begin serving lunch. 

The lunch menu at Cook, located at 825 Washington St. in Newton, will include a variety of dishes. Starters and salads including: udon noodles with peanuts and ponzu ($10), kale salad with brussels sprouts, parmesan, hazelnuts, verjus ($10) and shrimp tacos with avocado, red onion, aji crema ($5 each). 

There are three categories of main dishses on the lunch menu including sandwiches, flatbreads and entrees. Sandwiches include grilled cheese with tomato, herbs and greens ($12) and lobster sliders ($13). Some Flatbread choices are wild mushroom flatbread with fontina, ricotta, caramelized onions and truffle ($14) and chorizo flatbread with goat cheese, poblano pepper and fingerling chips ($12). Lunch entrees include bolognese with veal, pork, beef, mascarpone, herbs ($13) or winter vegetable lasagna, zucchini, kabocha squash, caramelized onions, mushrooms ($12).
