Newton Sporting Goods Store Gets New Owner, Will Continue Tradition

Adolph's will move to a new spot in Newton Centre, but plans to continue the tradition.

Adolph's Sporting Goods has been the place to go for sports equipment, team uniforms and custom T-shirts for more than 35 years and it will continue to be, but will do so under new owners.

Karolina “Kay” Kowalczyk purchased the store two weeks ago and will keep the name, but she plans to move from the current 800-square-foot space on Beacon Street to a larger location in Newton Centre, she told the Boston Globe.

Kowalczyk said she will continue the personal touch provided by Adolph and Ursula Thomas, but she plans to modernize the business by using more technology, according to the Globe.
