Pinkberry, Cinema de Luxe Coming to Newton's Chestnut Hill Shopping Center

WS Development announced Friday the National Amusements Cinema will be a Cinema de Luxe, and teased two other stores coming to the shopping center.

Pinkberry will soon be joining the line-up of stores in the revamped Chestnut Hill Shopping Center, joining , which announced it was coming to Chestnut Hill last week, .

In an email sent Friday afternoon, WS Development Director of Corporate Marketing David Fleming told Patch that the frozen yogurt shop is coming in addition to Bernard's restaurant and a Cinema de Luxe.

The new tenants will be located in a new, 115,000-square-foot building .

Pinkberry, a high-end frozen yogurt shop from the West Coast, also has locations in Cambridge and Boston's Back Bay. Bernard's is currently located in the .

The shops are expected to open in Spring of 2013, following the Cinema de Luxe, which is scheduled to open in March 2013, and Sports Club/LA, slated for Janury 2013.

In an earlier interview, WS Development indicated that the new National Amusements theatre located a few doors down.

Six-Screen, Luxury Complex with High-End Dining Experience to Open March 2013

Moviegoers will soon be able to experience the next level of movie theatres as National Amusements announced plans to open a six-screen, Cinema de Lux at the Chestnut Hill Shopping Center in March of 2013. TheCinema de Lux will feature an overall luxurious experience including, high-end, full service restaurant, premium reserved seating and upscale, in-theatre, at-your-seat dining throughout the entire complex.

“We’re looking forward to bringing an unparalleled movie going and dining experience toChestnut Hill,” said Shari Redstone, President of National Amusements. “We are thrilled once again to work with WS Development, a great partnership that has proven very successful.”

The cinema complex will be developed at the former Macy’s site, utilizing over 40,000-square-feet and including a yet-to-be-announced restaurateur. The theatre lobby will also include a full bar and lounge featuring a menu of specialty foods and innovative signature cocktails.

National Amusements and WS Development are joint venture partners at Legacy Place (Dedham, MA), which features Showcase Cinema de Lux. In addition, National Amusements operates Cinema de Lux at The Shoppes at Blackstone Valley (Millbury, MA), a WS Development property.

The addition of Cinema de Lux is part of a major redevelopment at the Chestnut Hill Shopping Center, which will expand to 406,000-square-feet. The Sports Club/LA and Shake Shack, along with and other best-in-class retailers and restaurants will begin opening early 2013.
