Tonight: "Envisioning West Newton" Presentation and Conversation

Do you care about economic development and improvements to West Newton Village and Washington Street? Stop by City Hall this evening for this community event.

Join the Planning and Development Department tonight at for a conversation about West Newton Village, future development in the area and improvements to Washington Street.

The department will welcome graduate students from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Department of Urban Studies and Planning who have studied West Newton and its potential for growth and redevelopment.

According to a memo from the Planning & Development Department, the students will present their findings as well as some analysis on zoning, parking, transportation, economic development and infrastructure.

MIT students have done similar projects in Newton with . 

The public is encouraged to attend tonight and offer comments and questions. A discussion will be held at 7 p.m. in room 202 at City Hall along with refreshments. Following the discussion, the students will present their findings in the Aldermanic Chamber starting at 7:30 p.m.
