Two New Restaurants Coming to Newton's Mall at Chestnut Hill

The mall recently saw the exit of Bernard's and Charley's.

Just a few weeks after losing Charley's Saloon and Bernard's, the Mall at Chestnut Hill announced yesterday two new eateries will be moving into the vacated restaurant spaces.

Besito and Tokyo Japanese Steak House will both open in the mall this summer, according to a press release issued Wednesday. 

"These are unique restaurants for the area and our shoppers are sure to love the experience and dining atmosphere at both,” Simon Property Group Senior Vice President of Leasing Cindy Kernan said in the press release.

Besito will be moving into the first floor space formerly occupied by Charley's Saloon, which abruptly closed last month after decades in Chestnut Hill.

According to the Besito website, the Mexican-style restaurant has three other locations, including Huntington, N.Y., Roslyn, N.Y., and West Hartford, Conn.

Besito's Chestnut Hill location is set to open sometime in July, the press release said.

Tokyo Japanese Steak House will move into the former Bernard's space on the mall's second floor, the press release said. An estimated opening date was not specified. 

 (formerly the Chestnut Hill Shopping Center).

The new Tokyo Japanese Steak House will feature chefs preparing tableside dishes as well as several children's menu options, the press release said.

Aside from these two new restaurants, the Mall at Chestnut Hill as more food-focused plans for the future; the mall owners applied for permits last fall to add more restaurant space over the next few years.

Tokyo Japanese Steak House will also feature several children’s options making this a fantastic dining choice for families.  Tokyo Japanese Steak House will be located on Level 2 (former Bernard’s space).
