Two other existing shops will also be moving to new locations in the mall.

While the  may be , the nearby is welcoming two new stores this fall.

According to a press release issued yesterday, Stuart Weitzman and Soft Surroundings will be joining the mall's line of shops later this year.

Stuart Weitzman carries designer shoes and handbags for women while Soft Surroundings offers a variety of women's clothes, home decor, beauty products and jewelry.

“These brands coming to the mall in 2012 represent what our Mall at Chestnut Hill shoppers really want,” Simon Property Group Senior Vice President of Leasing Cindy Kernan said in the press release. “We are proud to further strengthen our position as the premier, high-end shopping destination in the area,” she added.

Meanwhile, J. Jill will be relocating to the second floor and L'Occitane will be moving down to the first level of the mall.

Other recent additions to the Mall at Chestnut Hill include Michael Kors, Ann Taylor, Tiffany & Co. and Ross-Simons, which just relocated to the mall from the Atrium Mall on March 31.

I live right down the street from the mall, I haven't gone in there in years. I prefer to go up to Natick.

Newton Girl -- I hear that a lot! Any reason why you prefer one over the other?

The Sign of the Dove Gallery also opened on a year-round basis at The Mall at Chestnut Hill recently. This artists' cooperative gallery has been a holiday presence for a number of years but now is a source for unique, locally made arts and crafts every day!

Amy, that is WONDERFUL news- I love that place!!! But I must confess that I, too, prefer the "Natick Collection" to the Mall at Chestnut Hill. There are more shops in Natick, a greater variety of eateries, a great deal more parking and far, far fewer empty storefronts.
