What Business Would You Like to See Open in Newton in 2013?

Newton saw a number of new businesses open and close in 2012 -- what will the Newton business landscape look like in 2013?

With several major retail districts and multiple shopping malls, the business landscape in Newton is always changing. 

Over the last year, Newton welcomed more than a dozen restaurant openings or renovations. New retail establishments also opened up shop across the city, including the Heartbreak Hill Running Company, Brussels Sprouts, Pooch Hotel and many more. 

But 2012 also brought a number of business closings, including the South Pacific Chinese restaurant, John Dewar & Co., a large part of the Atrium Mall and, the most recent closure, Lam's in Newtonville

Next year is sure to bring a slew of new retail to the Garden City, with The Street (formerly Chestnut Hill Shopping Center) planning to open new shops and restaurants in early 2013 and Chestnut Hill Square opening with more retail and dining options in fall 2013.
