Newton Businesspeople, Former Residents Help North Hill "Top Off" New Senior Community Building

At North Hill senior community this week, several Newton businesspeople and former residents were among those using permanent markers to sign a 17 foot steel beam – the last beam for the newest buildings to go up on its campus.

The “topping off” ceremony was the latest sign of progress in North Hill’s multi- million dollar transformation, known as Project True North. The beam will go at the top of the community’s new Enhanced Living neighborhood, Vista Terrace.

When Project True North is completed in 2015, North Hill will have re-defined senior living. Their transformation includes:

  • Housing:
  • new, distinctive senior residences which became available beginning in the fall of 2012;
  • new community spaces such as outdoor and indoor dining, retail shops, a wellness center and more – many which opened over the summer of 2013; and,
  • 45 brand new apartments to open in 2015.
  • Healthcare:
    • the addition of Vista Terrace, with Enhanced Living Services that offer assistance with daily activities;
    • the transformation of skilled nursing into Pines Edge, a re-imagined model of senior health care with “small house” architecture, which places residents at the heart of the community – expected to be completed at the end of 2014.
  • Hospitality:
    • expanded employee training;
    • new services, amenities and experiences for vibrant 65+ living.

    In addition, Project True North involves the integration and application of innovative new technologies to empower more vibrant senior living. More information on the beam signing and Project True North can be found at http://www.NorthHill.org.
