Rodman & Rodman's Kathy Parker, CPA Addresses Boston University Chapter

"Being a CPA is quite rewarding.  Tax season can be very challenging but accounting is a dynamic industry and there is an opportunity to learn something new every day," explained Ms. Parker.  "A CPA is a trusted advisor to many businesses and individuals which is an honor that should be embraced.  Also, CPAs typically have job security despite the economy."

Ms. Parker continued, "There are a number of different career paths that CPAs may take - from Forensic and Valuation Services, Employee Benefits Auditing and Information Technology to Fraud Prevention, Detection & Investigation to Personal Financial Planning.  For anyone interested in a career as a CPA, consider an internship and network with other CPAs.  You could also contact the MSCPA or AICPA to learn more about additional career opportunities."
