5 Things You Need to Know Today: June 10

Swimming season begins at Crystal Lake and Gath Pool, book reviews at the senior center and more.

1.Today is opening day for both Crystal Lake and Gath Pool. General swim begins at 3 p.m. and will remain open until 8 p.m.

2. It's Book Review Day at the Newton Senior Center. Maura Copeland from the Newton Free Library will present three of her most recent "must reads" at 2:30 p.m.

3. Bike Newton will hold another evening bike ride today. Arrive at the Newton Free Library this evening at 5:45 p.m. The ride will be approximately 10 miles.

4. The Commission on Disability will meet at 6 p.m., the Finance Committee at 7 p.m. and the Zoning and Planning Committee at 7:30 p.m. Click the links for agendas.

5. There is a drop-in playgroup at Nahanton Park today at 10 a.m. Toddlers and their caregivers are invited. Adult admission is $3.
