Admission to the event is one non-perishable item for the Centre Street Food Pantry.

Now that the villages of Nonantum and Waban have officially lit their holiday lights, City Hall is next in line.

The annual Newton Holiday Lighting Ceremony will be held this Thursday, Dec. 6 at Newton City Hall.

The festivities kick off at 4 p.m. with a holiday sing-a-long featuring the Stacey Peasley Band. Once the songs wrap-up, Mayor Warren will join the community at 5 p.m. on the City Hall steps to flip the switch for the light display.
