Newton Partners with Junior League of Boston for Annual Show House Event

Mayor Setti Warren welcomed the Junior League to Newton during a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, Oct. 16.

On Tuesday, Oct. 16, Mayor Setti Warren celebrated a new partnership with the Junior League of Boston for the 35th Annual Show House.

The Show House event features 35 area design firms that have come together to re-design the 145-year-old Potter Estate on the Jackson-Walnut Park School Campus in Newton.

Warren and the Junior League marked the partnership and the start of the showcase with a ribbon cutting Tuesday.

“I am so pleased to welcome the Junior League to Newton for this exciting new project. This will play an important role in promoting culture and the arts in our community, and we look forward to a great working relationship with them," Warren said in the press release.

According to a press release issued earlier this week, the Junior League selected the designers from more than 100 submissions sent in from all across New England.

"I'm very excited to be part of this year's Show House, a fundraiser that's spanned an incredible 40 years,” Junior League of Boston President Cindy Reuter said in the press release. “The Show House enables us to showcase talented local designers and offer the public a look into the latest design trends with the proceeds going to the mission of the Junior League."

The Junior League of Boston is an organization of women "committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving communities through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers," according to the press release.
