City of Newton to Hold Vigil for Victims of Boston Marathon Bombings

The vigil will be held Wed., April 17 at 6:30 p.m.

Following yesterday's bombings at the Boston Marathon finish line, the city of Newton will hold a vigil this Wednesday, April 17 at the Newton City Hall War Memorial. 

The vigil will be held at 6:30 p.m. on the steps of the War Memorial, according to an advisory from the mayor's office.

All residents are welcome to attend tomorrow night's vigil to "come together as a community and show support for the victims of Monday’s tragic events," the advisory said.

In addition to tomorrow night's vigil, a peace vigil will be held tonight at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Newton Highlands and a Mass of Healing and Hope will be held tonight at 5 p.m. at St. Ignatius Church in Chestnut Hill, 28 Commonwealth Ave.
