Five Things You Need to Know Today: Jan. 12

A movie, a few open houses and some local hockey to check out.

1. The Bourne Legacy. The Newton Free Library will host a showing of The Bourne Legacy today at 2 p.m. in the Druker Auditorium. The program is free and open to ages 13 and up.

2. Looking for a new home in Newton? Check out our list of open houses this weekend in the Garden City.

3. Go Lions! The Newton South High School boys' varsity ice hockey team will face Weston in a home match this afternoon at 2:30 p.m. The game will take place at the Ryan Arena in Watertown (1 Paramount Pl.)

4. Get your flu shot! The city of Newton issued a number of health tips and information yesterday on where you can get a flu shot. 

5. Temperatures getting warmer. The "January Thaw" is moving its way in; today's temperatures will reach the mid- to upper-40s and tomorrow we should be in the 50s, according to the National Weather Service. By Monday, we could have a high of 54 degrees.
