2. Movie showing. The Newton Free Library will show the family-friendly film ParaNorman this afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Druker Auditorium.

3. Go Lions! The Newton South girls' varsity ice hockey team will face Westford Academy in a home match this afternoon at 2:15 p.m. The game will take place at the Dexter School in Brookline (20 Newton St.)

4. In case you missed it. Lt. Gov. Tim Murray announced yesterday he's not running for governor in 2014. A couple of Newton names might be in the running, but who do you think should get the corner office?
