Five Things You Need to Know Today: Jan. 20

A free concert, a family art program and a Whole Foods Customer Connection event.

1. Looking for a new home in Newton? There are a few open houses today that you can check out in Newton. 

2. Customer Connection group meetings. Whole Foods on Walnut Street wants to hear from you! Stop by the Customer Connection meet-up today from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Participants will receive a $25 Whole Foods Market gift card. Email ava.fantasia@wholefoods.com if you'd like to participate.

3. Free concert. Ibis Camerata member Biljana Milovanovic, piano, and soprano Rachele Schmiege will perform a free concert today at the Newton Free Library. The performance starts at 2 p.m. and will include works by Lawrence Kramer, Eric Ewazen and Franz Liszt

4. Family art program. The New Art Center will host a family art program this morning at 10 a.m. with Professor Gizmo. Using only recycled and other materials, participants can create unique objects to bring home to play with or display. Build a space ship, a robot, or a doll house, it is all up to you. All materials included. Registration ($10) is encouraged, but drop-ins are welcome.
