Five Things You Need to Know Today: Nov. 11

A free concert, the BJFF continues and Veterans Day ceremonies.

1. Today is Veterans Day. The city of Newton will hold its Veterans Day ceremonies today at American Legion Post 440. The event starts at 1 p.m.

2. Free concert. Pianist James Chubet and violinist Anne-Marie Chubet will perform Franz Schubert's Piano Trio No. 2 in E-Flat Major, D. 929 today at the Newton Free Library. The free concert starts at 2 p.m.

3. Boston Jewish Film Festival. The 24th annual BJFF is going on right now and will continue today with a number of films, including  which starts at 2 p.m. at the West Newton Cinema. Tickets are $12 or $11 for students, seniors and members. A full schedule of the festival events is available online.

4. Looking for a new home? There are a few open houses in Newton today if you're in the market (or just curious!)

5. Holly Harvest Fair. Sacred Heart Parish will host its Holly Harvest Fair today from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. at the Bishop Mackenzie Center. There will be raffles, a silent auction, gifts, children's activities, baked goods, holiday table, gift baskets and more.
