Five Things You Need to Know Today: Nov. 22

Happy Thanksgiving!

1. Happy Thanksgiving! All city offices, schools, banks, libraries, retail shops, liquor stores and post offices will be closed today. Most grocery stores and restaurants are closed as well, but you can check with your local establishment before heading out. 

2. Newton North/Brookline game. Looking for a classic Thanksgiving football rivalry? The Newton North and Brookline football teams will continue a 118-year tradition with their annual Thanksgiving match at 10 a.m. This year's game will take place at Newton North's Dickinson Field.

3. Newton South/Lincoln-Sudbury game. The Newton South Lions will face their Thanksgiving Rivals, Lincoln-Sudbury, today at 10 a.m. The 40-year rivalry will play out today at Lincoln-Sudbury High School, 390 Lincoln Road  Sudbury, MA.

5. Trash/recycling pick-up. Curbside trash/recycling pickup in Newton will be delayed one day (starting today) due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
