Are you heading out for Black Friday?

1. Post-Thanksgiving. City Hall, the Newton Senior Center and the Newton Free Library will reopen today, but the Newton Public Schools will remain closed.

2. Black Friday madness! It's Black Friday! Are you planning to head out? Here is a list of some Newton businesses that will be open today as well as some of the deals available for shoppers. 

3. City Survey. The city is conducting a pilot program of electronic parking meters in Newton Highlands and officials want to know what you think. Have you used the meters? Take the survey.

4. Last day to vote! Today is the last day to vote in our Newton Patch Facebook Page cover photo contest. . The winner receives a $50 gift card!

5. Dr. Anthony Wolf, parenting expert. FYI - Dr. Anthony Wolf, practicing child psychologist, speaker and author of parenting books including "I'd Listen to My Parents if They'd Just Shut Up: What to Say and Not Say when Parenting Teens," will be presenting at Beaver Country Day School in Chestnut Hill on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 7  p.m. in an event that is free and open to the public. RSVP to attend the event.
