Funeral Services Scheduled for Franco Garcia

Boston College will provide transportation for students wishing to attend the wake.

A funeral and wake have been scheduled for student and West Newton resident Franco Garcia, who tragically drowned in the Chestnut Hill Reservoir after disappearing from Cleveland Circle on Feb. 22.

According to the Boston College website, a wake for Garcia will be held Tues., April 17 from 4 p.m. - 9 p.m. at , 133 School St. in Waltham. The funeral Mass is scheduled for Wed., April 18 at 11 a.m. at St. Ignatius Church, 28 Commonwealth Ave. in Chestnut Hill (Boston College campus).

Garcia, 21, before . He was a senior chemistry major at BC and a member of the school's marching and symphonic band.

Garcia's family and friends , but also as a talented musician and a family-oriented brother and son.

According to a post on the Franco Garcia Facebook page, Boston College will provide transportation for students who wish to attend Garcia's wake in Waltham. Buses will be available at More Hall Circle starting at 3:30 p.m. and will leave every half hour for St. Mary's in Waltham until 8 p.m.

The final bus from Waltham back to campus will leave at 9 p.m.

An online fund to help the Garcia family is also open for donations. as part of the search effort, the fund has continued to grow since last week's tragic news. Those who wish to donate can visit the WePay site here.
