While many of us are thinking about about what dish to bring to the family Thanksgiving dinner this year, thousands of Massachusetts residents are worried about whether they'll have food on the table at all.
So what can you do to help?
You can donate to Massachusetts organizations like Project Bread, a program that often helps out local food pantries here in Newton.
You can also help your Newton neighbors by donating to one of the city's three food pantries directly:
Centre Street Food Pantry
Located at Trinity Episcopal Church on Centre Street.
Hours: Tuesdays 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. and the first Saturday of every month, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Food donations: Accepted when the pantry is open on Tuesdays and the first Saturday of the month. Please remember to check expiration dates. Large food donations can be made by appointment.
Financial contributions: Make checks payable to Centre Street Food Pantry and mail to: Centre Street Food Pantry, 11 Homer St., Newton Centre MA 02459. Or donate online.
