Last Chance: Dog Licensing Deadline Approaching

Dogs six months of age and older need to be licensed.

The deadline for licensing dogs in Newton is coming up by week's end, on April 1.

According to the town clerk's website, all dogs age six months or older need to be licensed annually by April 1. Residents can purchase a dog license, or a combination dog license and off-leash permit allowing use of the off-leash dog parks in Newton.

The dog licensing fee is $10 for a spayed or neutered dog, and $15 for all others. The license and off-leash permits are $60 for a spayed or neutered dog, $65 for all others. A copy of the dog's current rabies vaccination certificate is required when applying.
