Newton-Wellesley Hospital’s Leap Year Babies

These babies were born today, Feb. 29, 2012 at Newton-Wellesley Hospital.

There are those that technically only have a birthday once every four years. They’re the people born on Feb. 29.

 (NWH) is giving out a "tree frog" (stuffed animal, not a real one!) with three Gerber daisies in a vase to all of the hospital's Leap Year babies today, according to NWH spokeswoman Rachel Kagno.

The hospital has welcomed four 2012 Leap Day babies so far today. Here is information on two babies born today at NWH:

Parents: Chris and Kristin Smith of Wellesley 
Baby Boy: Evan Christopher Smith 
Born on 2/29/12 at 12:50am 
Weighed 9lbs, 5oz.

This was their first child.

Baby Girl: Eleanor "Nora" Rose Belmont
Born on 2/29/12 at 1:22am
Weighed: 7lbs, 12oz

Nora joins older sisters Molly (6-years old) and Anna (3-years old).

Lauren Belmont: "We were actually hoping for a Leap Year Baby. We thought it would be a unique thing. We arrived at Newton-Wellesley Hospital last night at 10pm and I thought, 'I can hang on ‘til after midnight.'“
