Storm Moving into Newton Area Wednesday Night

The winter storm packed quite a punch down in the south, but what does it mean for Newton?

The large winter storm that dropped inches of snow in the South is now headed towards the northeast, although little to no snow accumulation is expected in Newton.

According to the National Weather Service's latest forecast, several inches of snow are expected to fall in the western part of the state on Wednesday night, but with temperatures hovering around 40 degrees in Newton, the snow is expected to change over to rain or icy rain in the city.

According to the WHDH 7Weather Blog, the snow will start tonight between 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. and quickly turn into rain in the Boston area.
