As crews continue to work on cleaning up the damage from Hurricane Sandy, passengers on the Green D Line trains can expect some delays and service interruptions Tuesday.

According to the MBTA, shuttle bus service will replace train service on the D Line between Riverside and Reservoir Tuesday. This includes all Newton T stops (Riverside, Woodland, Waban, Eliot, Newton Highlands, Newton Centre and Chestnut Hill).

In addition, the MBTA says passengers should leave additional time for their commute and expect delays along the way.

The MBTA GM Twitter account posted several photos Monday of crews working on removing tree branches from the D Line wires.

The MBTA shut down all service Monday afternoon as Hurricane Sandy came barreling through the region.

But as of late Monday night, officials said the transit system would be back up and running again for normal start of service on Tuesday morning, with the exception of parts of the D Line and a portion of the Providence/Stoughton commuter rail line.

Stay tuned to Newton Patch for updates on D Line service.
