Week in Review: Earthquake, Riverside Project and Mayor Proposes Override

If you missed any news in Newton this week, here's where you can catch up on your local headlines.

  • Mayor Setti Warren proposed an $11.4 million override package Monday night, which includes three separate ballot questions (one operational override and two debt exclusions). Overall, the override aims to rebuild schools, add teachers and classrooms, improve public safety as well as fix roads and sidewalks. 
  • Brandeis University sold its president's mansion in Newton for $2 million. 
  • Fourth District candidates Sean Bielat and Joe Kennedy III debated again Monday night at Wellesley College.
